Also known as the Poplar on Síkhegy Hill — one of Eger's finest vineyards, with a character all of its own.
The Poplar called us here
We call the top of Síkhegy Hill Felső-tornyos, and at its very top lives a huge Poplar. You have surely seen it. Around it lie some 7 hectares of vines, home to Kékfrankos, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. A hut once stood here, its distinctive tower watching over the vines and the hills.
We imagined a spot beneath it, full of deckchairs, with a pretty well, a big telescope, soft music, fine wines and a few bites to eat — while we watch the sunset.

Facing us is Almagyar, where our Leányka rests, and Steiner, where the Pinot Noir grows, with Cigléd behind it. To the west, the Mátra hills and Kékes Peak; to the north, Nagy-Eged Hill — and I can see Mész Hill, Pajados and Lake Ostoros too. Everything that matters to us.
