Várvédő Magnum 1,5L + fadoboz 2022
Egri Bikavér Grand Superior
A sparkling, deep ruby-colored wine, whose aroma is even more magnificent than its color. The alcohol is intense in the aroma, but not unpleasant. Violet, cocoa powder, cherry, nutmeg, and vanilla lend it elegance and complexity. There is also a hint of pipe tobacco. Its tannins and acids are intense and firm. Its flavor evokes a classic Black Forest cake, with notes of chocolate, sour cherry, and cherry. A hint of cranberry and rosehip also flashes at the end of each sip. A vibrant, lively, full-bodied, very long wine with great potential. – Adél Bernáth-Ulcz

TECHNICAL SHEET
WINEMAKING
The different grape varieties were harvested separately at their respective ripening times. Fermentation took place in a mixture of steel tanks and, due to the low yields, in smaller quantities in vats. After fermentation and malolactic fermentation, we began aging the wine in younger and completely new Hungarian and French oak barrels with capacities of 500 and 225 liters. After two years of aging, we decided on the final blend, then left the Kékfrankos, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah varieties to rest together in steel tanks for a few months before bottling.
